International Design Experience Empowers Practical Teaching

Hello everyone! I'm Chiara Ricco. I graduated from Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) Turin Campus (Jewelry and Accessory Design) and obtained a Master's degree in Digital Art from Scuola Internazionale di Comics Torino. As a freelance designer and mixed-media artist, I've served international brands like K-Way, accumulating experience in goldsmithing, jewelry CAD and AI drawing. I firmly believe design lies in practical application. Now teaching "Visual Communication 1" with Teacher Yang Jing, I aim to integrate international standards and practical experience into classes, helping students master problem-solving packaging design skills.

Decoding the Practical Logic of Packaging Design Teaching

Q: What inspirations have you brought to the course with your international background and industry experience?

问:您的国际化背景与行业经验,为课程带来了哪些启发?

A: Excellent packaging design must balance aesthetics, functionality and market demand. I connect classroom knowledge with industry reality—analyzing international brand cases for structure optimization and sharing global color trends. My cross-disciplinary experience also guides students to integrate multi-field thinking into creation.

答:优秀的包装设计需平衡美学、功能与市场需求。我将课堂知识与行业接轨,通过国际品牌案例解析结构优化,分享全球色彩趋势,同时借助跨领域经验,引导学生融入多维度设计思维。

Q: How to ensure effective knowledge absorption in the three-stage teaching path?

问:三阶教学路径如何保障学生有效吸收知识?

A: The key is "targeted input + practical output". Foundation stage: combine theory with simple tasks like market research and mood boards. Special breakthrough stage: consolidate skills through project-specific practice (PS/Blender application). Comprehensive implementation stage: simulate commercial scenarios for full-process practice. One-on-one guidance and detailed feedback are provided at each stage.

答:核心是“针对性输入+实践性输出”。基础阶段:理论结合市场调研、情绪板制作等简易任务;专项突破阶段:通过项目实操巩固PS/Blender等技能;综合落地阶段:模拟商业场景完成全流程实践。各阶段均提供一对一指导与详细反馈。

Q: What are the characteristics of the three real projects and their roles in student growth?

问:三大真实项目有何特点,对学生成长有何作用?

A: They cover diverse scenarios. Public welfare projects emphasize humanistic care; industry-university cooperation projects connect with market demand to cultivate commercial thinking; international cooperation projects focus on cross-cultural integration. These projects help students apply skills and improve adaptability.

答:三类项目覆盖多元场景:公益项目凸显人文关怀,产学合作项目对接市场需求、培养商业思维,国际合作项目聚焦跨文化融合。它们助力学生学以致用,提升实战与适应能力。

Q: How do you cooperate with Teacher Yang Jing to integrate international vision with local practice?

问:您与杨晶老师如何配合,实现国际视野与本土实践的融合?

A: We complement each other. Teacher Yang Jing helps dig into modern expressions of traditional Chinese patterns; I share European minimalist design concepts. We provide suggestions from different perspectives to balance local cultural roots and international aesthetics.

答:我们优势互补。杨晶老师助力深挖中国传统图案的现代表达,我分享欧洲简约设计理念,从不同视角给出建议,让学生在扎根本土与接轨国际间找到平衡。

Q: What impresses you most about students' performance?

问:学生的表现中,什么让您印象最深刻?

A: Their strong learning motivation and creative potential. Many students actively conduct research and revise designs repeatedly. They integrate unique insights into works, showing obvious growth from "novices" to "quasi-designers".

答:学生们浓厚的学习积极性与惊人的创意潜力。不少人主动调研、反复打磨设计,在作品中融入独特思考,从“设计新手”到“准设计师”的蜕变清晰可见。
